Information for Candidates

The Butte County Registrar of Voters serves as the candidate filing official for Federal, State and County offices, serving residents of Butte County.  These offices include; State Legislative offices, County Board of Supervisors, Countywide offices, School Boards and local Special Districts.  

In order to become a candidate for office, there are specific documents that must be filed to meet requirements from both the California Elections Code and the Fair Political Practices Commission.  Some of these forms are general and are required for most offices.  You can find those forms listed below.  For information about specific qualifications and fees for an individual office, you can find that information on the Scheduled Elections page.

Please note: Filing for City/Town officials is handled by the respective City/Town Clerks.
